Automate with workflows and triggers
Let things that happen in Cue, Nest and Relay wake your agents up. Build calling workflows for your Telecaller, and see what starts each of the other agent types.
What wakes an agent up
An agent can start work in three ways:
- By hand: you give it a task or press a button.
- On a schedule: at set times, such as every Monday at 09:00.
- When an event happens: a form is submitted, an appointment is completed, a deal is won, an email arrives.
Telecallers use Workflows for all three. The other types have their triggers in their own settings.
Calling workflows for the Telecaller
A workflow picks people from Cue or Nest, or from a list you paste in. It calls them with a Telecaller agent inside your calling hours, then writes the outcome back.
Use one to call new leads within a minute, confirm tomorrow’s appointments, or ask for feedback after a visit.
Open Workflows at https://tron.oroe.ai/t/telecaller/workflows.
Note You need a Telecaller agent first, and voice calling set up. See Telecaller.
Create a workflow
- Select New workflow.
- Enter a Name and choose the Agent. Add a Description if you like.
- Under Who to call (source), choose Cue appointments, Nest contacts / deals or Manual list (in the selector).
- In Selector (JSON), say which people to pick. The hint under the box shows an example for the source you chose.
- Under Trigger, choose By hand, On a schedule or When an event happens (see below).
- Set Calls from, Calls until and Time zone.
- Set Concurrent calls, Max targets per run and Don’t re-call within (hours).
- Optional: add Write-back actions (JSON) to update Cue or Nest after the call.
- Select Save workflow.
Saved workflows start disabled. Select Enable when you’re ready for real calls.
Trigger on a schedule
Choose On a schedule. Enter a Cron (5 fields) expression and pick a Cron time zone. For example, 0 10 * * 1-5 runs on weekdays at 10:00.
Trigger on an event
Choose When an event happens, then pick a Source and an Event.
| Source | Events |
|---|---|
| cue | form.submitted, appointment.created, appointment.confirmed, appointment.completed, appointment.cancelled, appointment.no_show |
| nest | customer.created, deal.won |
| tron | call.ended |
| relay | email.received |
- Delay (seconds) waits before calling. Use 0 to call straight away, which is great for new leads.
- Filters (JSON) narrows it down. For example,
{"form_id": 3}reacts to one form only.
Write the outcome back
Write-back actions (JSON) says what to change after a call, depending on how it went. For example, this marks a Cue appointment as confirmed when the call connects:
[{"on":"connected","module":"cue","action":"set_status","params":{"status":"confirmed"}}]
A call with no matching action changes nothing.
Test and run
On each workflow card:
- Preview shows who would be called, without calling anyone.
- Run now starts it straight away.
- Enable / Disable switches it on or off.
- Runs shows its history.
- Edit changes it.
Tip Always Preview first. It’s the quickest way to check your selector picks the right people.
Good to know If you see Cross-module workflows are unavailable, the connection to Cue and Nest isn’t set up for your workspace yet. Email support@oroe.ai.
Triggers for the other agent types
| Type | What starts it | Where to set it |
|---|---|---|
| Email Agent | Every new email to one of its Mailboxes. Follow-ups go out when they’re due. | Email Agent |
| Chat Agent | Every new message on the widget or your Facebook page. | Chat Agent |
| Research Agent | Schedule (cron) for regular briefs. Research before calls on a Telecaller for pre-call briefs. | Research Agent |
| Marketing Agent | Newsletter cadence and Social drafts per week. Ask for reviews after a visit on appointment.completed or deal.won. | Marketing Agent |
| Finance Agent | Create invoices from a completed Cue appointment or a won Nest deal. Deposit before appointment on a new booking. The Reminder ladder for overdue invoices. Cash summary on a schedule. | Finance Agent |
Give any agent a task by hand
Every type except the Telecaller and Chat Agent has a runs page with Start a run:
- Open the type’s runs page, for example Handled email, Research runs or Runs.
- Select Start a run.
- Choose the Agent and describe the Task in plain words.
- Select Run.
The run shows each step it took, the Tool calls it made and any Artifacts it wrote. Select Cancel to stop a run that’s still going.
