Read a monitor's history

Understand the charts, uptime percentage and event log on an uptime monitor's page.

Open a monitor

  1. Open https://pinwatch.oroe.ai/monitors.
  2. Select View Details on the monitor’s card. Uptime monitors open at an address like https://pinwatch.oroe.ai/uptime/12.

The top of the page shows the name, the address being checked, the current status, and the Edit and Pause buttons.

The numbers across the top

Card What it tells you
Uptime The percentage of recent checks that succeeded
Avg Response A rolling average of how long the target took to answer, in milliseconds
Check Interval How often PinWatch checks
Status Changes How many notable events are in the history, such as switches between up and down and alerts sent
Total Checks How many checks ran in the last 24 hours

Good to know The uptime percentage appears once the monitor has actually run. Until then the card shows N/A rather than a misleading 0%.

The charts

Once there’s history, you’ll see three views:

  • Response Time plots each recent check, so you can spot a site slowing down before it fails.
  • Event Types is a ring chart of the kinds of events recorded.
  • Event History is a grid of events coloured by severity: Info, Warning and Error/Critical.

Configuration and Events tabs

  • Configuration has two panels. Monitor Settings lists the type, target, interval, current status and whether the monitor is active. Activity lists Last Check, Last Up, Last Down, Uptime, Avg Response and Created.
  • Events lists the moments that matter, such as status changes and alerts sent, newest first. Routine successful checks are left out here, because they’re already in the chart.

A down event shows the reason PinWatch recorded, for example a timeout, an HTTP status such as http_status_503, or a certificate problem.

Note PinWatch keeps individual check results for 30 days. Older checks are cleared out automatically.

Keyword monitors

A keyword monitor’s page looks a little different. It shows the Keyword, Changes Detected and Last Change, plus a Tracked Value panel with the Current and Previous result. See Watch a page for a keyword.
