SEO and social sharing
Control how your website appears in search results and when it's shared, with website-wide defaults, per-page settings and an automatic sitemap.
How it fits together
Cue gives you two levels of control:
- Website defaults apply to every page of your website that doesn’t set its own values.
- Page settings override the defaults for one page.
Set good defaults once, then fine-tune your most important pages, such as your home page and your main services page.
Website defaults
Go to Cue Pages > Website > SEO & Social.
Under SEO defaults:
- Title suffix is added to the end of every page title in search results and browser tabs, for example " | Luna Hair Studio".
- Default meta description is the short summary search engines may show under your page title. One or two sentences about what you do and where works well.
- Default social share image is the picture shown when someone shares a page on social media or in a messaging app. Use an image of 1200×630px.
Under Social links, add your Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok addresses. They appear in your website’s footer, and on your holding page if you choose.
Select Save Changes when you’re done.
The browser-tab icon for your whole website is set under Website > General > Favicon. See Pages, menus and media.
Settings for one page
- Open the page in Studio.
- Make sure no block is selected, then select Global in the right-hand panel.
- Select the SEO tab.
- Fill in what you need:
- Page URL (slug): the page’s address. Cue checks it’s available as you type.
- Meta Description: the summary shown under the title in search results.
- Meta Keywords: type a keyword and press Enter or a comma after each.
- Social Share Image: the picture used when this page is shared (1200×630px recommended).
- Favicon: a browser-tab icon just for this page.
- Check the Search Preview to see roughly how the page will look in search results.
- Select Save, then Publish or Update so the new settings go live.
The title shown in search results and the browser tab is the page’s name, which you edit in the box at the top left of Studio, followed by your website’s Title suffix. So a page called “Haircuts & colour” on a website with the suffix " | Luna Hair Studio" appears as “Haircuts & colour | Luna Hair Studio”.
Tip Keep page titles under about 60 characters and descriptions under about 155, so search engines don’t cut them short.
Sitemap and search engines
You don’t need to do anything to get found. Cue keeps a sitemap at https://cue.oroe.ai/sitemap.xml that lists every published page, with the date it last changed, so search engines can discover your pages and notice updates. Drafts are never included.
A few things to know:
- When your website is in Maintenance mode, search engines are asked not to index it. Coming soon pages can still be indexed. See Coming soon and maintenance modes.
- Unpublishing a page removes it from the sitemap.
- Good alt text on your images helps search engines too. You can add it in the media library.
