Segments
Build saved groups of contacts from rules, like "high-value customers" or "leads from the website", and see their value at a glance.
What a segment is
A segment is a group of contacts defined by rules. Instead of picking people one by one, you describe who belongs, for example “Lifetime Value greater than 1000”, and Nest finds everyone who matches.
Open Segments under Tools, or go to https://nest.oroe.ai/segments. You’ll land on Contact Segments.
Start with the defaults
If you’re not sure where to begin, select Add Default Segments. Nest adds a set of useful starter segments you can learn from.
Create a segment
- Select New Segment.
- Enter a Segment Name and, optionally, a Description.
- Under Conditions, choose how the rules combine:
- All (AND) – a contact must match every rule.
- Any (OR) – a contact needs to match just one rule.
- Add a rule. Pick a field:
- Lifetime Value
- Visit Count
- Contact Type
- Status
- Sentiment
- Risk Score
- Tags
- City
- Lead Source
- Pick an operator: equals, not equals, greater than, less than, contains or does not contain.
- Enter the value to compare against.
- Add more rules if you need them.
- Select Create Segment.
Examples
- Website leads: Lead Source equals
Cue Form, with Status equalsLead, using All. - VIPs: Tags contains
vip, or Lifetime Value greater than5000, using Any.
View a segment
Select a segment to see who’s in it, along with:
- Total Contacts – how many people match.
- Total LTV – their combined lifetime value.
- Avg LTV – the average lifetime value per contact.
Change or remove a segment
Good to know Segments can’t be edited after you create them. To change one, create a new segment with the rules you want, then delete the old one.
Deleting a segment only removes the group. The contacts in it stay exactly as they are.
