Publishing and custom domains
Put your pages online at your cue.oroe.ai address, then connect your own domain with two DNS records and automatic HTTPS.
Drafts and live pages
Every page starts as a Draft. Drafts are private: only you and your team can see them. Nothing appears on the web until you publish.
When you publish, the page goes Live and visitors can see it. If you keep editing a live page, your changes stay in the draft (the card shows Unpublished changes) until you publish again.
Publish your pages
You can publish in several places:
- Whole website: in the website preview after Build with Pulse, select Publish site.
- One page from Studio: select Publish, or Update if the page is already live.
- One page from Edit with Pulse: select Publish. Cue shows what’s changed first.
- From the page list: open a page card’s menu and select Publish.
To take a page offline, open its card’s menu and select Unpublish. To hide your whole website for a while without unpublishing anything, use a coming-soon or maintenance page instead. See Coming soon and maintenance modes.
Your web address
Every website has a free address on cue.oroe.ai:
- Your home page is at
https://cue.oroe.ai/s/your-website. - Other pages are at
https://cue.oroe.ai/s/your-website/page-address. - A Standalone page is at
https://cue.oroe.ai/p/page-address.
You choose your-website under Website > General > Website address. See Pages, menus and media.
Connect your own domain
You can serve your website on a domain you own, such as www.yourbusiness.com. You add two DNS records at your domain provider, Cue checks them, and then issues the HTTPS certificate for you automatically. There’s nothing to buy or install.
Step 1: add the domain in Cue
- In Cue Pages, go to Website > Domain.
- Under Connect your domain, type your domain, for example
www.yourbusiness.com. - Select Connect domain.
Cue now shows the two DNS records you need, each with a copy button.
Step 2: add the DNS records
Sign in to wherever you manage your domain (for example Cloudflare, GoDaddy or Namecheap) and create these two records exactly as Cue shows them.
1. A TXT record, which proves you own the domain.
| Type | Host | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | _oroe-verify.www for www.yourbusiness.com, or _oroe-verify for yourbusiness.com |
oroe-site-verify= followed by your unique code |
The full name of this record is _oroe-verify. plus your domain, for example _oroe-verify.www.yourbusiness.com. Copy the value from Cue, because the code is unique to your website.
2. A record that sends visitors to your website.
| Your domain | Type | Host | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
A subdomain, such as www.yourbusiness.com |
CNAME | www |
cue.oroe.ai |
A root domain, such as yourbusiness.com |
A | @ |
The IP address shown in Cue |
If your provider doesn’t allow a CNAME record for a subdomain, use an A record pointing to the IP address Cue shows instead.
Tip Most providers add your domain to the end of the Host field automatically, so enter only the short host Cue shows, such as
_oroe-verify.www. If your provider asks for the full name, use the full name Cue shows underneath.
Step 3: check DNS
- Back in Website > Domain, select Check DNS.
- Cue marks each record ✓ Found or ✓ Pointing here once it can see it. If something isn’t right yet, Cue tells you what it found, for example the address the domain currently points to.
- When both records check out, Cue issues your HTTPS certificate. This usually takes a few minutes.
DNS changes can take up to an hour to spread across the internet. If a check fails, wait a little and select Check DNS again (or Re-check DNS once ownership is verified).
What the status means
| Status | What’s happening |
|---|---|
| Not connected | No domain has been added yet. |
| Waiting for DNS | Cue can’t see your records yet. Add them, then check again. |
| Verified · certificate pending | You’ve proved ownership. Cue is issuing your HTTPS certificate. |
| Live · HTTPS | Your website is live on your domain. Select Open site to visit it. |
| Verified · certificate failed | Ownership is fine but the certificate couldn’t be issued. Check that your routing record still points to Cue, then select Re-check DNS. |
| Check failed | The last check found a problem. The message under the domain explains what to fix. |
Good to know
- Nothing is served on your domain until Cue has verified that you own it.
- Your website stays available at its
/s/address as well. - Each website can have one domain. To use both
yourbusiness.comandwww.yourbusiness.com, connect one in Cue and set up a redirect from the other at your domain provider. - Your booking page and standalone form pages keep running on cue.oroe.ai and are linked from your website.
- While your domain is live, your website address under General is locked. To change it, select Disconnect under Domain first. Disconnecting stops visitors reaching your website on that domain.
