Get sourced briefs with the Research Agent
Connect a web search provider, ask a question or name a company, and get back a short brief where every claim has a source. Run it on demand, on a schedule, or before a call.
What the Research Agent does
A Research Agent searches the web, reads the pages it finds and writes a brief. Every claim in the brief needs a source. If it can’t find something, it says so instead of guessing.
It talks to nobody. Its briefs are read by you and by your other agents. It can:
- prepare a brief on a contact before a Telecaller dials,
- watch competitors or a market on a schedule,
- write findings back into a Nest record,
- give the Marketing Agent facts to write from.
Open it at https://tron.oroe.ai/t/research_agent.
Before you start: connect a search provider

Research Agent settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search provider | exa or tavily. |
| Output | The brief’s shape: prospect brief, company profile, competitor watch, market scan or custom. |
| Custom template (markdown) | Your own layout, used when Output is custom. |
| Languages | Write briefs in these languages. The first one wins. Empty means English. |
| Only these domains / Never these domains | Which sites it may, or may never, read. |
| Personal data | What it may collect about people: b2b only, public profiles or none. |
| Require citations | The brief is refused if a claim has no source. On by default. |
| Reuse a brief younger than (days) | Before a call, a recent brief on the same contact is reused instead of researching again. |
| Max searches per run / Max pages fetched per run / Token budget per run | Hard limits on each run. See Usage and limits. |
| Schedule (cron) / Schedule timezone | Run on its own (below). |
Run it on a schedule
Use Schedule (cron) to run the agent regularly, for example a weekly competitor watch.
- Enter a five-part cron expression, such as
0 9 * * 1for Mondays at 09:00. - Set Schedule timezone, for example Europe/Berlin.
- Leave Schedule (cron) blank for on-demand only.
Note A schedule can run at most once an hour. Each run searches the web and uses the model, so pick a fixed minute.
Brief a contact before a call
- Open a Telecaller agent in the builder.
- In Telecaller settings, choose your Research Agent under Research before calls.
- Select Save Agent.
Before workflows and campaigns dial, the Research Agent prepares a brief on each contact. The Telecaller gets it as background for the call.
